Our Edmonton Catholic Schools community joins Catholics around the world in praying for Pope Leo XIV as he recovers from surgery for pulmonary adenocarcinoma. Together in faith, our students and staff lift Pope Leo in prayer, asking God to surround him with strength, peace, comfort, and healing.
Loving Father, you sent your Son into the world to redeem us by his Cross and Resurrection. We ask You to wrap Pope Leo in Your loving arms and surround him with Your healing presence, strength, and peace. Lord Jesus, be his comfort in moments of uncertainty, his courage in times of difficulty, and his hope on the days when the journey feels heavy.
Bless the doctors, nurses, and caregivers who attend to him, guiding their hands and granting them wisdom and compassion. Holy Spirit, renew Pope Leo’s spirit, strengthen his body, and fill his heart with the assurance that he is never alone. To our students and staff, may we remember that even the smallest prayer, whispered with love and faith, can be a beautiful gift of hope.
May our Edmonton Catholic school community unite in compassion, trusting in God’s mercy and offering Pope Leo our love, our prayers, and our unwavering support.
In solidarity with the Universal Church, and through the intercession of our Most Blessed Mother, Mary, the Mother of God, we ask you to protect and sustain the Holy Father: “Hail Mary, Full of Grace, The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of death. Amen.
We place Pope Leo in Your hands, Heavenly Father, trusting in Your infinite love and asking that Your light shine upon him each day.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
